Review: We had a very negative experience with Chariots for Hire. We hired a bus to transport our wedding guests to and from the venue from our two hotel blocks. According to my guests, the driver, Daniel, was extremely unprofessional and sat on his phone with headphones in after the bus had been loaded at the first pick-up location, and had to be prompted by our guests multiple times to get moving to the next location. Due to these delays, we had to start our ceremony late. Our guests also reported feeling very uncomfortable on the drive to the venue, due to Daniel’s unsafe driving. We had to start our ceremony late due to the delays in leaving on time. Finally, per our contract and the clear instructions provided, Daniel was supposed to wait at the venue during the ceremony and reception to take guests back the hotels at the end of the night. When my wedding coordinator went out to check on things, the bus was no where to be found! She tried calling him, and he would not answer. Finally, he answered a call from our coordinator’s assistant, where he admitted he was 20 minutes from the venue. We have no idea what he was doing offsite, but it was extremely frustrating that he did not follow the instructions in our contract. To the company’s credit (and why I’m giving 2 starts instead of 1), when I called the company to report these issues the day after my wedding, a manager promptly contacted me to discuss and provided a partial refund (albeit very small compared to the total we paid for the service). Based on other reviews, it seems the company has great service, I would just be sure to ensure you don’t have Daniel as a driver.
